SC Johnson will acquire Melvo Holding GmbH, a shoe care company with leading brands sold throughout Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), from a shareholder group led by VR Equitypartner. The deal adds leading brands that include Salamander, a market leader in Russia, as well as Woly, Woly Sport and Grison, to SC Johnson's shoe care portfolio, which includes the Kiwi and Bama brands.

A purchase price was not disclosed.

“Melvo's leading brands, including Salamander and Woly, are an outstanding fit for SC Johnson's portfolio and will complement our Kiwi and Bama brands,” said Fisk Johnson, chairman and CEO of SC Johnson. “Adding these brands will enable us to expand our shoe care offering to more families around the world.”

SC Johnson expects the deal, which includes all aspects of the Melvo business, to be finalized in the coming months. This is subject to competition authority approvals and other local requirements with relevant workers' councils.
