New scent kicks off at Sephora with plans for expanded distribution.

Jennifer Aniston evokes her earliest and most beloved recollections of scent in the creation of her debut fragrance, Jennifer Aniston, launching today in the U.S, exclusively at Sephora.com. “I wanted this fragrance to be a personal library of scent memories. For example, my love of Night Blooming Jasmine has lasted a lifetime. Growing up in California, I distinctly remember the scent of the Jasmine on summer evenings,” comments Aniston. The plant, known as Queen of the Night, omits a heady and far-reaching scent and flourishes in tropical climates. Such places are close to Aniston’s heart and were a significant part of her childhood. Aniston also recalls her trips to Greece where she cultivated a love of beaches, water and the warmth and solace of the outdoors. “I consider the scent of the ocean to be one of life’s most uplifting sensual experiences. No aroma is quite so purifying, humbling and exhilarating. The combination of the salty air and tropical oils reminds me of long sunny days on the beach – pure happiness,” comments Aniston. Aniston enjoyed playing the role of alchemist, adjusting and refining the combination of notes for over a year in partnership with IFF. The debut fragrance exhibits top notes of Citrus Grove and Rose Water, middle notes of Blooming Jasmine, which she paired with Wild Violets and Amazon Lily; and finally, dry down notes include a Sensual Musk, Golden Amber and Sandalwood. Jennifer cites the distinct smell of wood fires at friends’ houses on summer evenings as an inspiration for the woody base notes. “Jennifer showed clear vision for the fragrance from the outset. Her references evoke her love of the natural world and the fragrance celebrates her as an intelligent, natural beauty whose strength and elegance are unparalleled. It was a pleasure to work with her on this beautiful fragrance,” comments Leon Falic, President, Falic Fashion Group. The bottle is inspired by Jennifer’s love and appreciation of architecture. The design was part of the overall brand development, which David Lipman of Lipman was tasked with creating. The bottle references the flow of a Frank Gehry building combined with the fluidity and organic form of a cresting wave. “Translating Jennifer’s vision and her life into one of the most sensory experiences is a wonderful project. Her clarity and passions lend themselves so naturally to a fragrance. I think together we have created something unique and intoxicating that is truly impactful,” said brand guru David Lipman. Jennifer Aniston’s debut fragrance will be available all nationwide Sephora retail stores in late March 2011. Aniston found a well-matched retail partner in Sephora, which will carry the fragrance exclusively in the U.S. “We are thrilled to be the exclusive retail partner’s for Jennifer’s debut fragrance,” said Margarita Arriagada, SVP of Merchandising for Sephora. “Jennifer is in inspiration to women around the world, many of whom have been longing for Jennifer to create a scent memory to share with them. We are absolutely enamored with the juice and have no doubt our clients will be, too.” The launch will be supported by a campaign created by David Lipman and shot by Mario Sorrenti. The fragrance will be available in the following sizes: 1oz, 1.7oz, and 2.9oz and will retail for $39.00, $55.00 and $70.00 respectively. In support of Aniston’s continued charitable works, $1 of each Jennifer Aniston fragrance “LIKE” achieved on Sephora.com/Sephora’s Facebook page will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
