Klarna has released its annual Holiday Glow Up Report for 2022

The report is based on a survey sent out online during October 2022 in collaboration with research agency Dynata to a representative sample of more than 17,540 consumers across 17 countries and 3 continents, with more than 1,000 respondents per country including 1,020 in the US.

According to Klarna’s report, the product itself is the most important consideration for consumers purchases (47%) closely followed by the brand (39%) when choosing beauty gifts for their loved ones during the holiday season.

Ingredients and formula (35%) are also a vital part of the selection process.

Their other findings revealed that top beauty items for Christmas were fragrance at 49%; makeup (lipstick, blush and mascara) at 39%; and skincare (serum, exfoliator, day cream) at 35%.

Forty-one percent of survey respondents have already bought beauty bundles and holiday limited-editions and 30% are planning to buy them. Younger generations buy holiday limited-editions and beauty bundles more often. Eighty-two percent of Gen Z’ers have either already bought holiday beauty bundles or are planning to.
