Lane Named Gillette Senior VP and Chief Information Officer

The Gillette Company has appointed Kathy S. Lane senior vice president and chief information officer. Ms. Lane joins Gillette from General Electric, where she served as general manager, eBusiness and Information Technology, of the company’s oil and gas division, in Florence, Italy. Ms. Lane will now be responsible for Gillette’s worldwide information technology organization.

“Kathy Lane brings to Gillette an excellent track record of leading large information technology organizations,” said James M. Kilts, chairman and chief executive officer, Gillette. “She has proven business and technical skills, as well as extensive industry experience.”

Ms. Lane began her career at Procter & Gamble and later joined Pepsi Cola International, as director, technology services.

In 1998, Ms. Lane was named manager, GE corporate initiatives group, General Electric. In 1999, she was promoted to senior vice president and chief information officer of GE’s vendor financial services. Ms. Lane moved to GE oil and gas in 2000, responsible for all IT strategy, planning and operations.
