Lauder, Lichtenthal Add Responsibilities at EL

Jane Lauder heads up Darphin and Lichtenthal to lead Bumble and Bumble.

Estée Lauder Companies announced that Jane Lauder and Peter Lichtenthal will add new responsibilities to their current roles with the company. Lauder, currently global president and general manager of the Origins and Ojon brands, will now take on the additional responsibility for Darphin, a European-oriented pharmacy brand. She will continue reporting to Lynne Greene, who will assume a new role on Jan. 1 as one of two new group presidents overseeing Clinique, Origins, Ojon, Aveda and Darphin. Olivier Fontaine will remain president of Darphin.


Lichtenthal, president of Bumble and Bumble, will take responsibility for Smashbox, a brand that had been overseen by Caroline Geerlings, who will now concentrate on developing Tom Ford as the global brand president of Tom Ford Beauty and new business. She also is responsible for Prescriptives online.


Lichtenthal will report to John Demsey, group president of Estée Lauder, MAC Cosmetics, Tom Ford Beauty, Prescriptives, Bobbi Brown, La Mer, Jo Malone and Smashbox. Beth DiNardo will continue as general manger of Smashbox, reporting to Lichtenthal.
