Elizabeth Arden has filed notice with the state of Florida it plans to lay off 15 workers by Sept. 15. The beauty products company said the people to lose their jobs are wholesale trade employees who work at 14100 N.W. 60 Ave., in Miami Lakes.

When, in November 2003, Elizabeth Arden said it would close its Miami Lakes distribution center, but keep corporate offices elsewhere in the city, it predicted cutting its U.S. workforce by about 10 percent. However, the company should have finished consolidating its U.S. distribution operations into a single facility in Roanoke, Va., by March 2004.
