DiNardo and Pontes leaving posts at Smashbox and Glamglow.
July 2, 2019
By: Christine Esposito
Editor-in-Chief
The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. has announced global leadership updates for Smashbox and Glamglow, brands that are in the portfolio led by John Demsey, executive group president. Sejal Shah Miller has joined the company as senior vice president, global general manager, Smashbox. She reports directly to Demsey and joins the company’s extended executive leadership team. She succeeds Beth DiNardo, who has made the decision to retire from her position as global brand president, Smashbox and Glamglow. Arnaud Goullin has been appointed senior vice president, global general manager, Glamglow. He reports directly to Demsey and joins the company’s extended executive leadership team. He succeeds Paula Pontes, who has decided to step down from her position as senior vice president, global general manager, Glamglow. The changes are effective immediately, according to ELC. “This is an incredibly exciting time for Smashbox and Glamglow as the brands continue to expand globally and transform along with today’s consumer,” said Demsey. “Sejal and Arnaud are both incredibly dynamic leaders with the global expertise, creativity and deep industry understanding needed to take these brands to the next level while not losing sight of what makes them unique. We are thrilled to have them on board.” In her new role, Shah Miller will be responsible for driving Smashbox’s brand equity and global expansion while capturing new avenues for growth. Her focus will include reinforcing Smashbox’s studio-born DNA, advancing the brand’s digital and influencer marketing leadership, and accelerating product innovation and commercial opportunities. She will be based at Smashbox’s Los Angeles headquarters. Most recently, Shah Miller served as SVP, global general manager at Mattel where she oversaw the girls and games portfolios which include the Polly Pocket, Uno and Scrabble franchises. Prior to that, she headed global and US marketing for the Barbie brand franchise and played a pivotal role in architecting the brand’s turnaround and evolution. Shah Miller spent nearly a decade with L’Oréal’s Luxury Division, too, where she held a variety of marketing roles globally, regionally and locally with increasing responsibility for a range of brands including Viktor & Rolf, Lancôme, Biotherm, Ralph Lauren, and Giorgio Armani. Goullin will be responsible for accelerating Glamglow’s global brand equity, developing and executing the brand strategy, and expanding the brand’s global footprint. He will be based at the brand’s Hollywood headquarters and will partner closely with Shannon Dellimore, co-founder and creative director, to drive new development and innovation opportunities and relationships for the brand. Goullin joined the company in 2006 and most recently led Clinique’s global international organization. In 2017, he added retail and education to his portfolio of responsibilities. In this position, he was instrumental in driving Clinique’s retail concepts, the digitalization of education, the brand’s strategies in retail technology and the optimization of the brand’s go-to-market process. He previously served as VP and GM, international APAC and Latin America, M·A·C Cosmetics. Prior to that role, he served as brand general manager, Estée Lauder, for the France affiliate. Before joining ELC, Goullin worked for Shiseido-BPI for eight years.
