The composition is comprised of a chelant selected from the group consisting of glutamic acid, diethylenetriamine penta methylphosphonic acid; diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid, methyl glycinediacetic acid and mixtures thereof; a surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic, nonionic, cationic, amphoteric, zwitterionic, semi-polar nonionic surfactants and mixtures thereof; a branched nonionic surfactant; and aqueous liquid carrier.

The weight ratio of total surfactants to nonionic surfactant is from approximately 2 to approximately  6. The anionic surfactant comprises a sulphate or sulphonate surfactant having an average percentage branching of from about 40% to about 60% and the branched nonionic surfactant has a branching of about 100%. The composition has a pH of from 8-11.

P&G has also been issued a patent (US Patent No. 8,901,059 B2) for another liquid hand dishwash detergent. This detergent composition is comprised of chelant comprising glutamic-N,N-diacetic acid or a derivative thereof; a surfactant system consisting of an anionic surfactant, an ethoxylated nonionic surfactant and a coco dimethyl amine oxide amphoteric surfactant present at a level from approximately 0.5% to approximately 10% by weight of the total composition.
