Living Proof Co-Founder Honored at White House

Robert Langer given Medal of Technology and Innovation.

Living Proof co-founder and board member Robert Langer received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation from President Barack Obama in a White House ceremony last week.



Dr. Langer, Iistitute professor at the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, co-founded Living Proof to drive new innovation within the beauty industry by applying technologies and principals from the biotechnology industry.


Langer has 811 patents, issued or pending, to his name, and more than 250 companies have licensed or sublicensed Langer Lab patents. At Living Proof, Dr. Langer’s scientific leadership has been instrumental in developing new products with meaningful benefit. Since 2005, the company has received ten patents, and the industry has recognized its products with more than 34 awards.


“Bob’s great mission is to translate academic research so that it can improve people’s lives in very meaningful ways,” said Living Proof CEO Jill Beraud. “He is the champion of new innovation for patients and consumers around the world. There is no one more deserving of the nation’s National Medal of Technology and Innovation.”
