US Patent No. 9,744,116 B2; L’Oréal, Paris, has patented a mascara composition. The mascara is comprised of at least one liquid fatty substance; an emulsifying system comprising at least one sucrose fatty acid ester; and at least one polysorbate co-emulsifier; at least one viscosity increasing agent; at least one film forming system comprising at least one film forming polymer selected from styrene/acrylates/ammonium methacrylate copolymers, and at least one co-film former; and water. The ratio of sucrose fatty acid ester to the co-emulsifier is approximately 1:1 to about 1:20. The viscosity is between 4.7 Pa*s to 16.5 Pa*s and the pH is 6.5-8.5.
