US Patent No. 10,105,297 B2; L'Oréal Paris, has been awarded a patent for a sunscreen composition that is comprised of synthetic layered silicates of sodium and magnesium and/or synthetic layered silicates of sodium, lithium and magnesium; one or more UV filters; one or more nonionic emulsifiers; 60 to about 90 wt.% water; and one or more film formers. The sunscreen composition simultaneously protects skin from both UV radiation and heat, according to the patent literature.
