L’Oreal announced the signing of an exclusive worldwide contract with actress Jessica Alba as spokesperson for the company and its brands. Her first L’Oreal commercial for L’Oreal Feria haircolor will debut later this year. Carol J. Hamilton, senior vice president and general manager of the L’Oreal Consumer Products Division of L’Oreal USA Inc., stated: “We’re thrilled to introduce Jessica Alba as our newest L’Oreal spokesperson. Jessica brings an incredible amount of strength and power to the character she portrays on `Dark Angel.’

“This quality, in addition to her beauty and her intelligence, truly makes her the perfect embodiment of the famous L’Oreal phrase, `Because I’m Worth It,”’ stated Hamilton. Jessica Alba is best known for her starring role in James Cameron’s “Dark Angel.” Ms. Alba stars in the title role as Max, a genetically enhanced human prototype who escapes from her government captors only to live out her life in the underground of 21st century Seattle. Ms. Alba received Golden Globe and People’s Choice Award nominations for this critically acclaimed series. She recently won a TV Guide Award as “Breakout Star of the Year.”

Alba has co-starred in the feature films “Never Been Kissed” and “Idle Hands,” and will be seen later this year starring in Fine Line’s “The Sleeping Dictionary” with Bob Hoskins and Brenda Blethyn.
