L’Oreal USA was recognized by the Arkansas Department of Labor (DOL) at a ceremony for outstanding safety at its North Little Rock distribution center. The award presented by James Salkeld, director of the Arkansas DOL, recognized 4 million consecutive hours worked at the distribution center without a lost day due to a work-related illness or injury.

Executives said the award demonstrated L’Oreal USA’s ongoing commitment to the safety and health of its employees and its stringent and rigorous approach to maintaining productive, safe and quality work environments. Approximately 220 full-time and 100 temporary employees accumulated the hours between May 1998 and August 2003.

Only 29 other companies in the State of Arkansas have reached this milestone since the inception of the Department of Labor’s award program in 1976.
