Lubrizol has introduced Novemer CS polymer, an innovative polymeric emulsifier and emulsion stabilizer that offers versatility and ease of use in a wide range of applications.

Novemer CS polymer expands Lubrizol award-winning portfolio of beauty innovations, following the recent introduction of Carbopol Fusion S-20 polymer, Zenerity biotech ingredient and Uplevity e-Lift peptide.

Novemer CS polymer is designed to deliver “exceptional” performance in formulating clear, low-to-high viscosity gels and emulsions. Its unique chemistry provides good compatibility with mineral UV filters and makeup pigments, as well as imparts a watery and refreshing sensory experience, with smooth spreading, per the makers.

This polymeric emulsifier is suitable for various personal care applications including skin care, sun care and makeup. In skin care formulations, Novemer CS polymer allows formulators to create a wide range of textures and demonstrates “outstanding” performance, even in emulsifier-free systems. When combined with natural and synthetic rheology modifiers, it provides the ability to create structured gel creams with wide ranges of viscosities that can be tailored to meet specific formulation requirements.

Sun Care and Makeup Formulations

Novemer CS polymer, officials said, also excels in sun care formulations, offering compatibility with organic and mineral UV filters by bringing a light and watery feel. In makeup formulas, Novemer CS polymer compatibility with pigments enables the formulation of liquid makeup and improves its stability, when combined with co-polymers and emulsifiers. It can also bring further consumer benefits such as improved sweat-resistance on its own or enhanced coverage and transfer resistance when combined with other Lubrizol synthetic polymers.
