At the recently concluded Suppliers’ Day in Edison, NJ, Lubrizol touted the benefits of several ingredients. For example, new Novemer EC-2 polymer imparts unique sensory properties and powerful electrolyte tolerance to skin care formulations. According to Lubrizol, formulators can easily create innovation creams and lotions with hard-to-manage actives such as UV filters and still maintain a delicate, soft afterfeel. Also new for skin care applications is Schercemol CATCEster, which is described as a simple sensory emulsion for skin care systems. For hair care formulations, Lubrizol has rolled out Fixate Freestyle polymer. It enables cosmetic chemists to create styling products with anywhere from soft to extreme hold, without sacrificing clarity and rheology. Also new is Fixate Freestyle polymer, which is said to be ideal for creating styling mousses, glazes and more, that range from soft to strong hold. Finally, for cleanser formulations, there’s Carbopol Aqua SF-2. This polymer enables product developers to create shower products that feature eye-catching ingredients suspended in the formula. Meanwhile, new Glucamate VLT thickener is naturally derived from corn and propylene glycol free. This mild thickener reduces the irritation of surfactant systems while efficiently building elegant viscosity with high clarity.
