Macadamia Beauty Hires Global Innovation Director

Maria Moga was most recently senior chemist at L'Oréal.

Maria Moga has joined Macadamia Beauty as global innovation director. Over the past seven years she has formulated hair care and personal care products at L’Oréal, Living Proof and Crabtree & Evelyn. Her latest role was with L’Oréal, where she was a senior chemist II, creating hair care products for brands including Matrix, Redken, L’Oréal Paris and Garnier Fructis. 
 
Moga will lead new innovation and redevelopments for all of the Macadamia Beauty brands, including Macadamia Professional and éprouvage. She will bring a great new viewpoint as an experienced bench chemist to the marketing team, according to the
Plano, TX-based company.
 
Moga graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She started her career at Genzyme, a biotech company in Boston, before transitioning to the beauty industry. She spent four years at Living Proof as a chemist, developing various care products and aerosols. She then joined Crabtree & Evelyn working on skin care and creating a hair care line.
 
At L’Oréal as a Senior Chemist II in their hair styling group, she served as the hairspray liaison between the U.S. and France for all hairsprays, designed and developed a new Aerosol Lab, and created hair styling products for all L’Oréal brands, focusing on L’Oréal Paris and Matrix.
