Markwins International appointed Leslie H. Hernandez as chief financial officer. According to Markwins, Hernandez brings a broad range of experience working in the financial areas of both public and private companies to this newly created senior leadership role at the firm. In her capacity as CFO, Hernandez will report directly to company chairman and CEO Eric Chen and will advise the board of directors.

Hernandez was promoted from her previous position as Markwins International senior vice president of finance, a position that she held for the past three years. Prior to that, she served for eight years in a similar role for Physicians Formula. During her time at Physicians Formula, Hernandez also spent a year as corporate secretary on the board, a role that dissolved when the company was acquired by Markwins International in December of 2012.

With the new appointment, Hernandez will continue to be responsible for the management of complex business transactions and strategic initiatives including direct communications with the board, audit committee, nomination, corporate governance and compensation committees and the reliable reporting of financial results.
