Martha Stewart is resigning from the board of Revlon Inc. after nearly eight years as a director of the cosmetics company, a Revlon spokeswoman said on Monday.

Spokeswoman Catherine Fisher declined to provide more details, including the effective date of the resignation. Ms. Stewart, convicted last week of lying about a suspicious stock trade, has been a Revlon director since June 1996.

In Revlon’s “Code of Business Conduct,” dated December 2003, the first of 16 items listed is potential infractions related to the trading of securities. The document stresses that the code covers directors of the company.

Ms. Stewart last week was found guilty of one count of conspiracy, two counts of making false statements and one count of obstruction of agency proceedings in the investigation of a suspicious stock sale. She is scheduled to be sentenced on June 17.
