Actress Michelle Pfeiffer’s husband, David E. Kelley, loves when she wears vanilla.

So, the founder of Environmental Working Group verified and Cradle to Cradle certified fragrance brand Henry Rose — the middle names of their two children — made him his very own fragrance named after the man himself.

Meet Dave.

Per Pfeiffer, he’s a storyteller: seductive yet comforting. Bold yet intimate. Elegant yet untamed. Sophisticated yet free-spirited. Sensitive yet strong.

“He’s been my greatest supporter from day one,” said Pfeiffer. “He also happens to love when I wear vanilla. When we started crafting Dave, I knew I wanted to make a vanilla that defied the ‘ordinary’ stereotypes – something with depth and duality, just like David. David is a storyteller. And like any great story, Dave is a vanilla with some unexpected twists.”

According to Pascal Gaurin, vice president and senior perfumer at IFF, the idea was to immerse senses with a familiar scent with a novel approach.

“Dave captures nuances of natural vanilla bean that are wrapped in the floral petals of neroli and decadent gourmand notes cocoa shell and tonka bean,” said Gaurin.

Top notes include tangerine heart, neroli and pink pepper; middle notes are lavandin, orange flower and almond blossom; bottom are vanilla bean Chantilly, salted cocoa shell and Tonka Bean Absolute.

A modern contrast of light and dark centered around the timeless elegance of vanilla bean, the fragrance is Henry Rose’s most addictive fragrance yet, per marketers.

Dave Eau de Parfum retails for $120 on henryrose.com.
