Natural Marketers Roll Out New Products for Spring

Warmer weather is on the way (and in some places, soonerthan expected, even if on a temporary basis), and the beauty industry embraces the need for fresh, new products with a variety of innovations for Spring 2012. Here’s a few from the naturals sector:

The latest lipgloss from Tarte, Maracuja Divine Shine ($21), features the skin-nourishing benefits of maracuja oil, according to the company. With a variety of rich shades ranging from soft to vivid, the gloss is said to include the minimization of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving lips a fuller, plumped appearance.

Designed to cater to the needs of normal to combination skin, Weleda’s One Step Cleanser & Toner ($19) clarifies and perfects without over-drying, according to the company. With a fresh, citrus fragrance derived from essential oils, the product also features the deep-cleansing action of natural olive oil soap and the toning properties of witch hazel extract.

Alterna Professional Haircare recently launched a men’s line. Alterna Bamboo Men ($18 each) is a dual-benefit product line is rich with ingredients like organic bamboo extract and organic hemp seed oil which immediately boost hair’s intrinsic strength, flexibility and sustainability for stronger, healthier, better-performing hair, according to the company. Products include a Bamboo Men Invigorating Shampoo and Body Wash, Nourishing Conditioner and Shaving Cream and Thickening Gel Lotion with SPF 15.

And, in April, shoppers can design their own natural Babo Botanicals’ Easter Gift Set ($55) featuring any two 8-oz products from the children’s skin care company. The set comes with three (1oz) Bunny Soaps (fragrance free), an organic Stuffed Bunny and washcloth. Fragrance selections include Lavender Meadowsweet, Oatmilk Calendula, Berry Primrose, Rosemary Tea Tree and Cucumber Aloe Vera.
