Natural Products Day Set for March 2013

“This is a crucial time to educate new members of Congress and ensure that harmful legislation does not gain a foothold in the 113th Congress,” said John Shaw, NPA executive director and CEO. “Natural Products Day connects industry stakeholders in one unified advocacy event, speaking out for the rights of those who make, use and sell natural products. NPA anticipates many legislative and regulatory challenges for our industry in 2013. This advocacy day lets us bring our thoughts and concerns directly to policymakers.”

This annual event hosts retailers, suppliers and supporters who participate in meetings at congressional offices. There is no registration cost to attendees and all meetings are prearranged by NPA. The day begins with a morning session led by association and government relations experts who discuss effective ways to communicate with legislators and provide updates on key legislation and regulations. Following afternoon appointments, NPA hosts a reception honoring NPA Congressional Champions—senators and representatives who work hard to support initiatives important to the industry.
