The new cosmetic regulation EC N°1223/2009 will replace the current Cosmetics Directive 76/768/CE on July 11, 2013. Whether a manufacturer, importer or distributor, all will be affected by the EU’s move, according to Intertek (Stand No. V11).

Intertek has a dedicated regulatory affairs team to help companies comply with the EU regulation:

• Cosmetic product safety report: Intertek is providing safety reports by Eurotox’s toxicologists;
• Notification: Intertek can be mandated to perform the notification of your products;
Product Information File (PIF): Intertek can collect, check and compile your PIF. The files can be managed by an IT tool developed by Intertek;
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) according to ISO 22716: Intertek’s international network of auditors can evaluate cosmetics factories all over the world; and
• Testing: Intertek’s experts can advise on particular topics such as nanomaterials and container/content interactions
