North American Salt Adds Dishwasher Additive

North American Salt Company, a subsidiary of Compass Minerals, has added a new dishwashing product to its Nature’s Own water care range.

Nature’s Own dishwashing salt is naturally formulated to soften water in dishwashers, improving the cleaning performance of detergents and protecting the life of the appliance, according to the company.

“By removing the minerals that cause hard water, homeowners can extend the life of dishwashers by protecting them from the mineral build-up that congests motors and plumbing,” said Jerry Bucan, vice president and general manager of NASC’s consumer and industrial business.

Dishwasher salt also helps prevent water spots, resulting in cleaner, sparkling dishes and glasses.

The product is available in 3-lb. boxes for use in dishwashers containing an integrated water conditioning system. Nature’s Own Dishwasher Salt will be distributed through retail and grocery channels.
