At California Suppliers’ Day, Laboratoires Sérobiologiques showcased several new products that offer clinically proven product efficacy and environmental soundness, and that improve consumers’ feeling of well-being.

One such product is Euphoryl Ω-3, a combination of Sacha inchi oil, which is very rich in Omega-3 and acts as a skin antidepressant, and Schinus terebinthifolius (pink pepper) extract, a stimulant and invigorating agent with warm and sensual perfume notes. Clinical tests have shown that Euphoryl Ω-3 improves the appearance of the skin via dopamine stimulation. It helps keep women’s skin healthy and glowing, which in turn can make them feel good and confident about themselves. Euphoryl Ω-3 is preservative-free and conforms to international standards for natural and organic cosmetics.

Skinasensyl is a pure tetrapeptide with a new mechanism of action that has been especially designed for people with sensitive skin. The cosmeceutical active reduces nerve oversensitivity to external stimuli by decreasing the amount of the pro-inflammatory neuro-mediator calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) that is produced by the body. This ability to inhibit CGRP release to reduce neuronal stimulation has been demonstrated in vitro to occur via binding to the µ opioid receptor.

Another active ingredients LS showcased is Sphingoceryl WS, a water dispersible complex of biomimetic phyto-ceramides which protects skin and hair against environmental damages. For skin, it maintains an optimum rate of hydration by strengthening the cutaneous barrier. For hair, it helps to preserve dyed hair from fading after repeated washing thanks to its restructuring action on hair fibers (demonstrated in clinical tests). It also offers significant protection for ethnic hair after treatment with relaxing products. It is easy to formulate, especially in surfactant-based formulations.

In line with the increasing popularity of ‘wrinkle fillers’ such as hyaluronic acid, LS also presented Hyalurosmooth, a botanical alternative to hyaluronic acid. It is made of polysaccharides extracted from the seed of an Indian plant, Cassia Angustifolia, which forms a protective film on the skin that strongly binds water and fills in fine lines. It provides intense moisturization, while plumping up the skin, which further helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and to smooth the skin’s surface.

Finally, LS promoted Sphingosomes Moist, a next generation micellar solution. This innovative no-rinse cleanser brings state-of-the-art cleansing performance to mild formulations, and additionally helps restore the skin’s protective barrier. It gives manufacturers the opportunity to meet the increasing consumer demand for skin purifiers with optimal cleansing efficacy that also respects skin balance and tolerance.
