On Jan. 23, 2010, the New York Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) will hold a special chairman’s charity event to benefit the Personal Care Product Council’s “Look Good . . . Feel Better” program.

Look Good…Feel Better is a free, non-medical, brand-neutral, national public service program founded in 1989. The programs is supported by corporate donors to help women offset appearance-related changes from cancer treatment.

With the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ) at Liberty State Park as the backdrop, there will be an educational poster session on the industry’s early years in the U.S. featuring both marketing and supplier companies.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a one-hour cruise of the New York harbor aboard a chartered yacht (warm beverages included). A local historian will share the history of the harbor during the cruise. At the CRRNJ, the educational poster session/cocktail hour will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a three-course buffet dinner with entertainment.

Registration fees are $85 per person for the dinner and cruise or $800 for a table of 10. Dinner tickets (cocktail hour, buffet and dancing) are $75 per person. Tickets are also available for the cruise only.

According to NYSCC, $15 per person will be donated, with a total donation of $10,000 be made to the Look Good…Feel Better.
