NYSCC Gets Cooking Next Month

Second annual culinary event scheduled for September 23.

The New York Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists will hold its second annual culinary event on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at The Institute of Culinary Education, 50 West 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010. The event will include a 45-minute cocktail reception, a demonstration on molecular gastronomy, 90 minutes of hands-on cooking and 90 minute sit down dinner. The event will feature a mixed menu of French and Asian cuisines.

The featured entrée will be Coq au Vin, although a vegetarian alternative is available. The Institute of Culinary Education is New York City’s largest and most active center for culinary education. The facility includes several teaching kitchens and every 30 guests during the event will be assigned a separate kitchen for a true interactive experience, according to organizers.

In addition, every attendee receives an embroidered apron. The event will also include a door prize raffle. Buses will be available and leave promptly at 4:30 pm from two locations in NJ: Parking lot by Harold’s New York Deli, 3050 Woodbridge Ave. Edison, NJ (Right by Holiday Inn) and Paramus Park Mall, 700 Paramus Park, Paramus, NJ. Near the Sears’ entrance.
