Orveon is ready to grow its beauty business. Just months after acquiring BareMinerals, Laura Mercier and Buxom from Shiseido for $700 million, Orveon CEO Pascal Houdayer says sustainability is a focus for all three brands.

He told Women's Wear Daily his ambition for Orveon is to be “sustainable face care experts,” he said. “Each innovation will have a positive impact…sustainability is feasible.”

First, though, the business plan must be sustainable. In an effort to reduce redundancies, earlier this year Orveon laid off 60 of its 1,700 global employees, plus freelancers.

Despite the cuts, acquisitions remain a key part of Orveon's strategy, as Houdayer expands the company’s portfolio to blur the line between skincare and makeup.
