• US Patent No. 8,216,597 B2; Shiseido has patented an oil-in-water emulsion. It contains a polyoxyethylene phytosterol, a glycerin fatty acid diester, a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene random copolymer dialkyl ether, an oil-soluble drug, oil and water. A layered gel structure with a crystal structure of bimolecular membranes composed of the first and second components is present in an emulsion particle in the emulsion composition.
