Carpet cleaning franchise Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning’s Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning Encapsulator has received the Environment Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment Certification (DfE).

“Our product, which is part of a system that harnesses the power of oxygen, has successfully made it through the EPA’s rigorous testing process and can now proudly bear the label marking it as Design for the Environment certified,” said Jonathan Barnett, president of Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning.

Rather than using chemicals and steam, Oxi Fresh uses a proprietary eco-friendly carpet cleaning system that harnesses the power of oxygen to lift dirt and oil from the bottom of a carpet pile. It also uses far less water than other carpet cleaning services—2 gallons per job compared to upwards of 50 gallons, according to company estimates.

The DfE approved Encapsulator comes in a higher concentration than earlier versions of the Encapsulator, according to Oxi Fresh.

Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning has more than 200 locations across the U.S.
