Perfume manufacturer Parlux Fragrances Inc. reported a 38% jump in fiscal fourth-quarter earnings on sales growth of new and core brands. Net income for the quarter ended March 31 rose to $3.4 million, or 32 cents per share, from $2.5 million, or 24 cents per share, last year. Parlux said fourth-quarter sales grew 32 percent year-over-year to $25.9 million from $19.6 million. Quarterly operating income rose to $5.5 million from nearly $4 million in the prior period.

Chairman and chief executive Ilia Lekach attributed sales increases to the strength of the company’s Paris Hilton fragrance, continued growth in the company’s core Perry Ellis brand and the recent addition of the XOXO brand to its lineup.
