According to reports, hip Hop mogul Jay Z has been named in a $18 million lawsuit filed by Parlux Fragrances. Parlux cotends that Jay Z (Shawn Carter) has not promoted Gold Jay Z, a fragrance the two parties launched in 2013.

According to Parlux, Jay Z did not fulfill his social media and promotional appearances, including one on Good Morning America and another at Macy’s.

The fragrance  was created with Firmenich.

At the launch in 2013, Donald J. Loftus, president of Parlux LTD., Inc. called Jay Z “one of the world's leading artists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and visionaries of our time. He continues to re-write rules and sets new standards, turning everything he touches into gold.”

Maybe not everything.

Perfumania in December reported that Parlux's sales increased from $27.8 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2014 to $30.2 million in the same period in fiscal 2015 on the back of new product launches.

The suit was filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
