Powder Makeup Patented By ELC Management

US Patent No. 8,003,120 B2; ELC Management LLC has patented a powder composition comprising platelet and non- platelet particulates. The ratio of platelet to non-platelet particulates is greater than five to one respectively. The composition comprises less than 1% water, more than 75% of the platelet and non-platelet particulates have a particle size of from about 0.1-40 microns, and the platelet particulates comprise bentonite and the platelet and non-platelet particulates comprise a skin treatment active comprising Poria cocos extract, Magnolia grandiflora bark extract, Astrocaryum murumuru butter and caffeine.


Pest Repellent Composition
US Patent No. 7,988,985 B2; Ecosmart Technologies, Inc., Roswell, GA, has been awarded a patent for a repellant composition. It contains a carrier that is comprised of isopropyl myristate and isopropyl alcohol and an active ingredient comprising rosemary oil, cinnamon leaf oil, lemongrass oil, wintergreen oil and geraniol.


Henkel Patents Textile Care Composition
US Patent No. 7,989,412 B2; Henkel AG & Co. has patented a solid textile care composition. It is comprised of a soap matrix, and distributed within the soap matrix is a textile-care compound, perfume, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, 2,3-butylene glycol, sorbitol, glycerol, mannitol, glucose, sucrose, galactose, fructose, lactose, dextrose or a mixture thereof.


Water-Based Shampoo
US Patent No. 8,003,085 B2; Kao has patented a water-based shampoo comprising silicone oil droplets dispersed therein, said oil droplets comprising (A) 70-97% by mass of polydimethylsiloxane and (B) 3-30% by mass of a copolymer having a block chain constituted of an amino-modified organo-polysiloxane chain and a polyoxyalkylene chain. The content of the oil droplets in the shampoo is 0.5-2% by mass prepared by dispersing a pre-mix of A and B.


Hair Loss Composition
US Patent 8,003,119 B2; Giuliani S.p.A., Milan, Italy, has patented a composition for pharmaceutical or dietetic use to combat hair loss in a male. It is comprised of spermidine and methionine in a weight ratio of 0.5/300, respectively.


Foamable Moisturizer From Kimberly-Clark
US Patent No. 8,003,594 B2; Kimberly-Clark has patented a foaming moisturizer. It is comprised of a dispensing container that includes a non-aerosol pumping device and a foamable moisturizing composition inside. The composition is comprised of a single aqueous liquid phase consisting of a quaternary ammonium surfactant, humectant, secondary solublizer, thickener and optionally a preservative, a detackifier, a fragrance and natural moisturizing factors. The pumping device combines the composition with air when dispensed from the container for producing a foam.


Photostable Organic Sunscreen Patented by Merck
US Patent No. 8,003,082 B2; Merck Patent GmbH has patented a sunscreen capsule comprising at least one UVA organic sunscreen and at least one photostabilizer.


At-Home Disinfecting System For Dental Hardware
US Patent No. 8,002,897 B2; Integrity Engineering, West Chester, PA, has patented amethod of cleaning and disinfecting dental hardware. It is comprised of a portable base unit, holding frame and an ultraviolet lamp sized for at-home use by a consumer. The system also comprises a cleaning chamber sized to fit within the holding frame and a vibration mechanism. The cleaning solution comprises hydrogen peroxide. The hardware is placed in the cleaning chamber; the cleaning chamber is filled with cleaning solution; the vibration mechanism is activated to cause the cleaning chamber and contents to vibrate. The lamp is activated to expose the contents of the cleaning chamber to the UV light.


Laundry Composition From Procter & Gamble
US Patent No. 8,003,589 B2; The Procter & Gamble Company has patented a laundry detergent that contains a hueing dye and active pearlescent agents. The dye exhibits a hueing efficiency of at least about 10 and a wash removal value in the range of from about 30% to about 85%. The composition and the active pearlescent agents each have a refractive index such that the difference in refractive index between the pearlescent agent and the composition is at least 0.2. The pearlescent agents have a D0.99 of less than 40μm. The composition comprises from 0.01% to 0.2% by weight of the composition of the 100% active pearlescent agents. Also, the composition comprises a viscosity modifier selected from modifiers which impart shear thinning characteristics to the aqueous liquid composition such that the composition has a high shear viscosity at 20s−1 and 21°C of from about 1 to about 1500 cps and a low shear viscosity at 0.05 sec−1 at 21°C of greater than about 5000cps.
