Evonik Industries announced a price increase of up to 10% for its personal care ingredients business, effective for all deliveries as of July 1, 2011. The price increase is prompted by higher cost of raw materials and feedstocks, as well as regulatory, energy, transportation and packaging cost drivers, according to the company. As far as permissible under existing agreements, the price of all products will increase by up to 10%. According to Evonik, “We make every effort to keep improving our production processes by making them more efficient. However, steep increases in the costs of raw materials, energy and transportation leave the company with no other choice but to pass on to customers some of the resulting increases in its production costs. The price increase is also necessary to ensure that the high quality standard of our products is maintained. More info: www.evonik.com
