P&G Awarded Patents for Oralcare in Strip Form

Two new patents detail an article with a delivery carrier and solid hydrophilic particles comprising bleaching and active agents.

Procter & Gamble has been awarded to two new US patents describing oral care products in strip form.

US 12,133,903 B2 details an oral care article comprising: a solid hydrophobic delivery carrier in form of a strip wherein the average thickness is from 0.15 mm to about 1 mm; and solid hydrophilic particles comprising a bleaching agent. The solid hydrophilic particles release the bleaching agent upon contact with water. The solid hydrophilic particles are disposed in and embedded in the solid hydrophobic delivery carrier, according to the patent literature.

A second patent (US 12,133,904 B2) details an oral care article comprising a solid hydrophobic delivery carrier in the form of a strip and solid hydrophilic particles embedded in the solid hydrophobic delivery carrier. The solid hydrophilic particles comprise an active agent for oral care comprising an anti-calculus agent, an anti-caries agent, an antimicrobial agent, a dentinal desensitizing agent, a bleaching agent, or combinations thereof. The concentration of the active agent at the first surface is greater than a concentration of the active agent at the second surface, according patent.

Procter & Gamble’s Paul Albert Sagel and Jayanth Rajaiah are credited in both patents.
