Worldwide Olympic Partner P&G congratulates Adam van Koeverden for his silver medal performance in the Men’s Kayak Single K-1 1000m Race at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The P&G ambassador showed extreme determination as he paddled his way through the finish line in what was a very tight race. Van Koeverden has now competed at his third Olympic Games and won his fourth medal, and is a member of Canada’s Men’s kayak team.

“Overall I am happy with my race. I tried to get as much air in my lungs and keep it going. Everybody is out there trying to win the race and I feel like my race plan went well. I was looking for a good finish. I can find the silver lining in silver,” said van Koeverden.

And as the Proud Sponsor of Moms, P&G also extends congratulations to his mom, Beata Bokrossy for her support, since it was on her suggestion that Adam first tried kayak at age 13. As a proud mom, Beata attended Adam’s race this morning and said: “When I first saw Adam after his race, he was walking towards me with his arms out and I knew he was happy. I’m so proud of Adam that I think we need to invent a new word for mother’s pride.”
P&G recognizes that no athlete makes it to the Olympic Games alone, and chances are, the one person cheering the loudest was his mom. Since P&G is in the business of helping moms, it is using its voice at the Olympic Games to say “thank you” to all moms for all they do to help their kids achieve their dreams. Its Thank You Mom campaign is the largest scale initiative in the company’s 175-year history.
