P&G Launches Hotel Cleaning Program

Procter & Gamble Co. is now rolling out a hotel cleaning program under which its own products, such as Tide and Downy, will be used exclusively. Called P&G Pro Line, the program is being marketed as an alternative to the housekeeping departments of hotels. Procter has for years provided commercial cleaning products to schools, restaurants and the food industry, and saw hotels as a growth avenue. The Cincinnati-based consumer goods maker has since 2003 been testing products made exclusively for the program, such as Spic and Span, Comet, Swiffer Dusters, Febreze and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
