P&G tests subscription service

Tide is coming in…to your home. Burned by the success of Dollar Shave Cub, in Atlanta Procter & Gamble launched Tide Wash Club, an online subscription service for the dissolvable Tide Pods capsules that are the company’s highest-priced laundry detergent. It offers free shipping at regular intervals.

 

Tide Wash Club joins Tide Spin, a P&G program where users use an app to to order laundry pickup and delivery from Tide-branded couriers. And last year, P&G opened its Gillette Shave Club to compete with Dollar Shave Club. All these moves are an effort to connect with an increasingly mobile consumer who is less loyal to the company's big brands.
