Project Reef is a new mineral SPF brand based in Maui that is selling its formulations in ocean-bound plastic packaging. Project Reef's inaugural product line consists of three mineral products—SPF 30, SPF 50 and a cooling lotion. To-date, Project Reef says it has helped remove over 2,755 pounds of plastic from the oceans, equivalent to over 60,000 plastic bottles. Company Founder and CEO Matt Roomet is hospitality industry veteran. “Prior to us launching Project Reef, we were completely unsatisfied with any of the mineral formulas on the market. That is, until now. We believe suncare should be rooted in ingredients found in nature that recharge the body and contribute to its overall well-being— not just protect the skin,” said Roomet.
