With the focus on non-animal testing remaining a major issue for many consumers and stake holders, In vitro toxicology specialists CeeTox, Inc. has developed a range of screens that offer alternatives to animal testing in support of REACH and Amendment 7 to the Cosmetics Directive.

The screens include Dermal Toxicity Model, a reconstituted human epidermal skin system used to evaluate skin corrosion, irritation, sensitization and phototoxicity; and an Ocular Toxicity Model, a reconstituted human corneal epithelial model used to asses irritation and acute toxicity. According to Ceetox, it is the only U.S. lab selected by EVCAM to validate this protocol.

The Kalamazoo, MI-based firm is the only commercially available model for producing the in vitro LD50 and OECD category of toxicity without the use of animals.
