Beauty Quest Group-owned hair brand Rusk is expanding its education team with the addition of Gina Bianca as Rusk Color Director.

Bianca's previous title was global director of color.

Alongside Global Artistic Director Matt Swinney, Bianca will assist the brand with its continued focus of providing hair professionals with education, business building techniques and ongoing introductions to new innovations.

“Today, it seems everybody is an educator; however, I believe that the educator experience I have simply cannot be bought or fast-tracked,” said Bianca. “It came from a decade of experience in salon ownership, training my assistants from beauty school to six figures, learning how to run a business by trying new things, failing, taking risks, and, of course, working on thousands of guests behind the chair.”

Bianca has 13 years of experience in the industry as an employee, independent artist, salon owner (employees and booth renters) and educator traveling the country. A three-time Behind The Chair Award nominee and team member, Bianca’s expertise includes mastery across all color techniques, including color corrections; and she currently owns and operates a fully staffed 30 chair booth rental salon in Connecticut, The Network Salon.

Bianca has built a seven-figure salon and education business independently and is passionate about inspiring colleagues to grow professionally and personally. Through her experience, in which she transitioned from beauty school to working at a salon and eventually becoming a mentor to her own salon employees, Bianca found a passion for education, highlighting this aspect as the best part of her job.

“I’m beyond excited to have Gina join the Rusk family as her creativity, authenticity and energy are sure to contribute to our mission of elevating the industry in multiple ways,” said Swinney. “It feels like Gina and I have been working together for years. We just click, and when you click with your partner, the ability to deliver useful, quality content is endless. I look forward to our continued collaboration with Gina’s new role at the brand.”

Free Online Educational Library, Salon-Friendly Techniques and More

Bianca's collaboration with the Rusk team will yield a multitude of resources, including a free online educational library, introductory kits based on specialties for new users, and showcasing salon-friendly techniques, ranging from root retouch techniques to maintenance overall.

“Each member of our Rusk team brings unique talent and expertise to the table,” said Chief Marketing Office Mary Burns. “Gina has a unique ability to inspire stylists, not only through her color techniques, but how she effectively teaches and motivates other stylists to improve their practice across their personal skill set and overall business acumen. As talented as she is inspirational, we’re incredibly proud to have Gina join the Rusk team.”

The brand will launch the digital learning destination, The Backroom. This new platform helps professionals by providing the tools to help them design their own success, personally and professionally. The Backroom, and the brand’s social channels, will feature Bianca’s work with the brand, along with many more resources.
