SATA To Meet in Myrtle Beach

The 22nd annual Southern Aerosol Tech-nical Association (SATA) conference will take place Oct. 3-6 at the Kingston Plantation Embassy Suites hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC. The meeting will feature seminars, a buffet lunch, beachside cookout and reception and banquet, as well as other activities.

In addition to hearing from representatives of CAPCO, seminar topics will include: “Selection of solvents & fluids for product formulations,” by Ralph Kowalik, ExxonMobil; “Destruc-tion of aerosol cans—contract outsourcing,” by Scott Danner of Strong Environmental; “New and innovative packaging roundtable;” “National paint and coating association presentation” by Heidi McAullife; “CO2 filling innovations,” by David Moody; “Critical aerosol safety audits” by Dexter Phillips; “The implementation of six sigma—benefits & pitfalls;” “An introduction to indoor air quality” and “Update on miscellaneous aerosol is-sues,” including the CARB 2001 survey, VOC issues, international aerosol regulations and inhalant/graffiti issues.

Saturday activities include a golf tournament, fishing tournament, sailing and the honoring of the winner of the SATA Distinguished Service award.
