SC Johnson has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross. The donation was announced during a press conference with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker as he shared the ongoing struggles facing Wisconsinites while recovering from the severe storms that caused significant flooding in many communities. Recently, SC Johnson provided more than 7,000 units of Off! Deep Woods insect repellent and Scrubbing Bubbles Bleach 5-in-1 all purpose cleaner with Fantastic to assist with cleanup efforts throughout the state. These products helped residents manage the increasing mosquito population that resulted from the standing water, as well as clean up their homes and businesses. “We have seen firsthand the damage left behind from the flooding in Burlington and other areas, and now Wisconsinites are facing challenges with the cleanup effort,” said Fisk Johnson, chairman and CEO of SC Johnson. “With our company headquarters located in the state, SC Johnson wants to step forward to help people quickly recover from this tragedy. The resources the Red Cross is providing to flood victims are crucial to their long-term recovery.” To date, the American Red Cross has provided more than 5,500 people with essential cleanup items in response to the recent flooding. The organization has also opened 10 shelters throughout the state and served more than 3,000 meals and snacks to individuals and families. “When a disaster occurs, the Red Cross is there to assist families on their path to recovery,” stated Patty Flowers, CEO, American Red Cross in Wisconsin. “We depend on the generosity of companies like SC Johnson to provide product donations and monetary support that allow us to mobilize staff and volunteers to help people during this challenging time.”
