The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) recognizes individuals for significant achievements in the field of cosmetic science through technical contributions, leadership and exceptional service to the Society or industry. The board of directors, in alignment with SCC’s mission, has added a new award for 2024 that will honor outstanding contributions to the field of cosmetic science education.
The SCC Education Award recognizes an individual making outstanding contributions to the field of cosmetic science education and mentorship. Membership in SCC (in good standing) at the time of nomination) is required. The nominee should demonstrates outstanding contributions made to the field of cosmetic science education, which may include: the SCC’s Continuing Education Program; a cosmetic science program at a recognized college or university; mentorship of future generations of cosmetic industry professionals; an extended body of educational work over the span of a career; and exceptional educational contributions made at a specific point in time.
The nomination period is open until July 15, 2024. The award will be presented at the Annual Scientific Meeting in December in Los Angeles, provided a deserving individual is selected, notes SCC.
