SDA Accepts Nominations For Glycerine Innovation Award

The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA), Washington, DC, announced nominations are now being accepted for the third annual SDA Glycerine Innovation award which recognizes outstanding achievement in new application research for glycerine, with emphasis on commercial viability.
The industrial oil products division of the American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS) administers the award, and will accept nominations through Nov. 1. The winner will receive a $3000 honorarium and a plaque commemorating the presentation at the 96th AOCS annual meeting in Salt Lake City, UT, May 1-4, 2005. No geographical limits are placed on award nominations and the awardee need not be a member of SDA, AOCS or the industrial oil products division. Self-nominations are permitted. Particular emphasis will be given to the existing or potential commercial importance of the work.
Applicants should include a letter of nomination (up to two pages) describing original research work in new applications and uses for glycerine. In addition, at least two letters of support and a copy of the published journal article relating to the research may accompany the nomination.
