Faulding Consumer, a Mayne Nickless company, announced today that 18-time Grand Slam tennis champion Chris Evert will serve as the Sea & Ski brand’s spokesperson in 2002. Known around the world for her famous two-handed backhand, Ms. Evert will communicate the importance of sun protection and re-introduce Sea & Ski to moms and their families in North America.“As a mom and someone who’s spent years in the sun, I always ensure my children and I wear sunscreen when we go outdoors,” said Ms. Evert. “It’s vital for parents to get in the habit of protecting themselves and their children from the sun, while getting on with their active lives. Sea & Ski helps fight potential sun damage with a full line of sunblock products for the entire family.“As the Sea & Ski celebrity spokesperson, Chris Evert will appear in a satellite media tour reaching TV stations across the country. Accompanying her will be prominent pharmacologist Timothy Maher, Ph.D., dean of research and graduate studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Ms. Evert will make additional media appearances on behalf of the brand throughout 2002 and will tape video footage, giving tennis lessons at the Evert Academy in Boca Raton, Florida and speaking about the benefits of using Sea & Ski.“We are thrilled to have one of the most celebrated players in tennis history associated with our brand,” said Frank Reilly, marketing director of Sea & Ski. “Chris Evert is the ultimate professional and having had an extremely successful 20-year career, she certainly knows a thing or two about the harmful effects of the sun.
