TAIWAN:  Taiwan Shiseido Co., Ltd. has begun operations at its recently completed Hsinchu Factory in Taiwan.  The roof of the new factory is covered with solar panels that will generate 1,080 MWh yearly, which will cover 80% of the total amount of energy consumed by the facility.

Taiwan Shiseido was established in 1957 as Shiseido’s first step toward going global, according to the company.

In addition, Shiseido recently laid the cornerstone for its Global Innovation Center (GIC) at Minato Mirai 21 area. Unprecedented in its open style of research and development, GIC is slated to start operation at the end of 2018. It will serve as the cutting-edge research facility and Shiseido’s global innovation hub, but its first and second floors will serve as an open communication space where consumers can get inspired by beauty, according to the company.
