Silgan Tubes Acquires Amcor Allentown Facility

Silgan Tubes Corp., formerly known as Thatcher Tubes, Woodstock, IL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Silgan Plastics Corp., has acquired the Allentown, PA tube manufacturing plant of Amcor Plastube.
The 70,000 square foot facility provides a base for key customers as well as incoming customers and will provide additional growth capacity, company executives said.
A multi-year plan for the facility will make additional high-speed multi-layer lines available as additional capacity is required.
