Alzo International is promoting two silicone elastomers for cosmetic applications. The NuLastic Surf line includes three materials:Surfa D99, Surfa ID and Surfa DM, are divinyldimethicone crosspolymers swollen in cosmetic solvents. They provide accelerated hydrophilic transport, w/o emulsification and elegant skin feel. Typical water absorption is 30% at 6% polymer. It has applications in makeup, lipstick and lipglosses, facial care, body care, sun care, shave care, hair care and fragrances. The NuLastic Silk line includes four materials, the newest is NuLastic Silk MA, D99—elastomers gelled in esters. All feature a high molecular weight “scaffold” structure that allows for maximum actives entrapment.
