US Patent No. 10,004,679 B2; Vidya Herbs, Inc., Fullerton, CA, has patented a method of treating skin that entails administering a composition comprising an amorphophallus konjac tuber extract that is substantially free of glucomannan. The extract is made by a process comprising contacting amorphophallus konjac tuber with alcohol to produce a mixture comprising a glucomannan coagulate, and removing the glucomannan coagulate from the mixture thereby producing an extract that is substantially free of glucomannan.The extract is capable of inhibiting tyrosinase, elastase, collagenase or combinations thereof.
