Chemists at The Boots Company patented a multi-phase, fluid skincare composition. The formula includes at least one cream phase; and at least one gel phase. Wherein, the phases are visually distinct phases that are packaged in physical contact. The viscosity ratio is from 1:3 to 3:1. The viscosity of the cream phase is between 45-55 Pa·s. The viscosity of the gel phase is between 23-31 Pa·s. The cream phase and gel phase have weight ratio in the range of from 52:48 to 48:52. The cream phase is in the form of a water-in-oil and/or silicone emulsion; and the viscosity is measured at 23°C using a Brookfield RVDV-I Prime viscometer with a heliopath, a speed of 10 revolutions per minute (rpm) for a time of 30 seconds using a T Bar spindle.
